This Privacy Policy describes conditions applicable to your use of ExitCalifornia.org's web site as well as all real estate and lender referral services provided by or in connection with ExitCalifornia.org ("the Services"). ExitCalifornia.org will comply with this Privacy Policy as well as all applicable state, federal, and local laws in the United States protecting privacy. We have created this Privacy Policy because we take your privacy seriously, and we seek to be as transparent as possible about how we collect, use, and share information.

A. Collection of Information
You acknowledge and agree that ExitCalifornia.org may collect information from you and about you when you use the Services. The information collected will be used to communicate with you and operate ExitCalifornia.org's program. In some instances, ExitCalifornia.org may collect and use your information for other purposes detailed below.
Specifically, ExitCalifornia.org may collect the following information from you:
- Relocation Request Information. When you submit our relocation form, we collect whether you own or rent your current home, the state you are considering moving to and optionally a city or area, your moving timeline, your first and last name, email address, phone number, and California ZIP code. We also record which page of our site you submitted the form from.
- Partial Form Submissions. We save your answers as you move through the relocation form, before you finish it. This means we may hold information including your name, email address, phone number, and ZIP code even if you do not complete the form. These partial records are automatically deleted after 90 days. They are used only to understand where people stop filling out the form, and they are never sent to a real estate agent.
- Consent Records. When you submit the relocation form, we store the date and time of your submission, your IP address, your browser user agent, and the version of the consent language you were shown.
- Contact Requests. When you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message, and optionally your phone number, whether you own or rent, and your preferred method of contact.
- Agent Applications. When a real estate professional applies to our partner program, we collect their name, brokerage, real estate license number, states of licensure, coverage area, email address, and phone number, and optionally their website, years licensed, and biography.
- Cookies, Web Beacons, and Usage Logs. Cookies are bits of electronic information that can be transferred to your computer or other electronic device to uniquely identify your browser. We may place one or more cookies on your computer or other electronic device in order to learn more about your activities on our website by combining the cookie information with other information we store about you. At any time, you may adjust settings on your browser to refuse cookies according to the instructions related to your browser.
- Web Usage. ExitCalifornia.org uses Google Analytics, which tracks and manages cookie information so that we and third-party service providers can better understand how visitors use our web site.
ExitCalifornia.org will never attempt to collect payment or payment information from anyone interested in using the program. There is no cost to a user for using the Services.
B. Use of Information
Generally speaking, ExitCalifornia.org will use information collected from you to provide you with the Services and to improve the Services. You thus acknowledge and agree that ExitCalifornia.org may use information collected from you for the following purposes.
- Communications with You. ExitCalifornia.org will use your e-mail address, physical address, and phone number to communicate with you as necessary, including providing you with information you have requested or confirming that you will receive the Services. If you do not wish to receive e-mails from ExitCalifornia.org, send an e-mail to Support@ExitCalifornia.org
- Advertising and Improved Customer Service. ExitCalifornia.org or third party service providers or advertisers may use cookies (that they collect or that we provide to them) or other similar technologies to collect information about your use of the Services or your online activities over time and across different web sites. Collected information may include the content you view, the date and time that you view this content, and the Web site that referred you to the Services, and this information may be associated with your unique browser, device identifier, or Internet Protocol address. These practices help tailor advertisements that are relevant and useful to you. These tailored advertisements may appear on the Services or on other websites, applications or properties.
C. Storage of Information
Information you submit through our forms is stored in a database hosted by Supabase. Transactional email relating to your submission is sent from notify.exitcalifornia.org.
Relocation leads, contact requests, and agent applications are stored separately and used for different purposes. Submitting a contact request is not consent to be contacted by a partner real estate agent.
D. Disclosure of Information
You acknowledge and agree that ExitCalifornia.org may share information about you in the following circumstances:
- You ask us to share the information. If you request that ExitCalifornia.org contacts a third party on your behalf, then you are consenting to disclosure of information and, particularly, personal contact information and any information we collect through your use of ExitCalifornia.org's web site. For example, if you choose to contact a real estate agent or lender through the Services, we will send your contact information to a real estate agent or lender.
When you submit the relocation form and provide consent, we introduce you to one partner real estate agent in your destination state. We do not sell your contact information, and we do not place it in a shared lead pool distributed to multiple agents. Partner agents pay us a referral fee. You pay us nothing.
- ExitCalifornia.org needs to disclose the information to provide the Services. ExitCalifornia.org may hire or contract with a service provider or business partner to operate some part or all of ExitCalifornia.org's business or provide better services to you. In order to provide the Services to you, ExitCalifornia.org may allow a third party to access information. ExitCalifornia.org will only disclose the information necessary for the service provider or business partner to perform the Services.
- ExitCalifornia.org affiliates with a different company or sells its business. ExitCalifornia.org may share information with any company or companies that affiliate with ExitCalifornia.org, including business partners. If ExitCalifornia.org is involved in a merger, acquisition, or any form of transfer or sale of some or all of its business, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding. Information may be transferred along with the business. Any company with whom ExitCalifornia.org affiliates or partners with has their own privacy and consumer information policies and, potentially, additional laws with which they must comply. Note that compliance with your request may result in your inability to use certain website features and our Services in the future.
